About the Studio
QuestItemsIRL is a one-person 3D-printing shop dedicated to turning rough ideas into real, tangible objects.
Based in Richmond, Kentucky, I run this studio to bring concepts to life. I don't operate a massive print farm—it's just me and my Bambu Lab P2S printer. That means when you send a request, you're talking directly to the person who will be slicing the file, loading the filament, and monitoring the print.
While I keep a catalog of pre-designed items (like desktop companions and curiosities), the core of the shop is about collaboration. Whether you need a functional replacement part or a custom display piece, I approach every print with care and attention to detail.
Custom 3D printing FAQ
How do custom requests work? Do I need a 3D model?
Anyone can submit an idea, and you absolutely don't need a finished 3D model or an account. If you just have reference photos, links, or a description of what you want, that's perfectly fine. If you don't know the exact dimensions, the best material to use, or even your budget yet—I can help figure that out with you.
If you do have a 3D model file, you can share it with me as a link (like Google Drive, Dropbox, or MakerWorld/Printables) in your request. Submitting a bespoke request is just a conversation starter to get a quote, not a paid order or commitment.
What materials can you print with?
I work across a broad range of filament types depending on what the project needs. This includes standard PLA, tougher PLA+, aesthetic Silk or Wood-filled filaments, as well as structural materials like PETG and ABS.
I evaluate the best material based on how the object will be used. If you have a specialty filament in mind, just mention it in your request, and I'll confirm its suitability and availability for the print.
How long does a custom print take?
Timing completely depends on the specific project—how large it is, if it requires design work or prototyping, and my current queue. Because this is a one-person shop, there is no guaranteed turnaround time. I review every quote manually and will reply directly to your email with my thoughts on timeline and feasibility.
How do I buy items from your catalog?
Standard catalog purchases on this site use our website’s secure checkout, where the current price, availability, shipping, taxes and payment details are handled by the store. Etsy is an optional storefront for additional buying options. Custom-print requests follow the separate review-and-quote process described in theservice guidebefore payment.
