Privacy Policy
New-drop emails are optional and require your explicit consent. We store your email, consent version and signup date for workshop release announcements. Every new-drop email must include an unsubscribe link; use it to stop future messages. Contact the studio to request removal. This list is separate from accounts, order messages and followed quests.
Community votes and followed quests are linked to your signed-in account. Public vote totals do not identify individual members. Following a quest shows updates on this website and does not subscribe you to email. Progress photos stay within the private custom job. Customer showcase photos are published only after consent and review.

Overview
QuestItemsIRL is a one-person print shop. This page describes the information used by this website when you create an account, make a custom request, use a private custom-job link, visit the external rewards page, submit a product review, or share a gallery photo. It describes the current site and service design; it is not a promise that every planned provider integration is active.
Information we collect
Depending on what you choose to do, the website may receive:
- Account information: Clerk handles account sign-in and may provide the site with your account identifier, email address, and basic profile information needed for account features.
- Custom-request information: A guest or signed-in customer can submit a name, email address, description, quantity, budget when provided, color, size, material, requested date, model links, and reference photos. These details let the maker review and discuss the request.
- Private STL model uploads: The model-upload path accepts STL files for a private custom request. The STL bytes are kept in private object storage associated with the request; the database stores object references and generated metadata rather than the file bytes. That metadata can include the selected units, triangle count, and calculated dimensions/bounds used to help review the model. STL uploads are for the private request only, not the public gallery.
- Private custom-job links: A submitted job can return a link such as
/jobs#capability. The fragment is a bearer secret: anyone who obtains the complete link may be able to view the limited job information available through it. Keep it private and share it only with the intended recipient. Do not put it in a public post, screenshot, analytics event, or forwarded message that is not meant for that recipient. The site keeps only a non-reversible representation of the link capability for lookup, and private job responses are marked not to be indexed. The link is not an account identifier or a substitute for signing in. - Rewards information: This website has no active custom points processing. It does not enroll customers, calculate balances, issue redemption codes, or award or redeem points. The former rewards integration is retired. Historical rewards records may be retained for prior account service, disputes and record-keeping. They are not a live balance.
- Product reviews: An authenticated customer with a verified purchase may submit a star rating, review text, and a chosen public display name only after explicitly consenting to public posting. A review is pending moderation first. If approved, only the chosen display name, review text, star rating, product association, and review date are shown publicly. The account email is not displayed publicly. You can edit or delete your own review from the account review controls; an edit returns it to moderation.
- Gallery submissions: If you submit a customer photo, we receive the photo, title, description, and your explicit public-display consent. Gallery submissions are separate from private custom-request attachments and are subject to moderation before a photo is shown.
Private files and job access
Reference photos and STL model files are intended to stay attached to the private request or job that you submitted. They are not automatically added to the public gallery. The site uses request/account authorization for private file access and does not turn a private model into a public download. A job capability link is different from an account login: treat it like a private key and contact the maker if it is shared with the wrong person.
Website orders and historical records
The website stores its own catalog, accepted prices, design specifications, order status, customer contact information and shipping address. Owner access is required for fulfillment and production files. Historical commerce and rewards records remain retained separately where needed for prior service and disputes. The former rewards integration is retired.
Reviews and public consent
Product reviews require an authenticated account, a verified purchase, and explicit public-consent confirmation. Submitted reviews remain pending until a moderator approves them. Public review output is limited to the customer-selected display name, text, star rating, product, and date; the account email and internal order/customer identifiers are not public. Editing your own review requires the account that created it, and the revised review is moderated again. Account controls also provide deletion of your own review.
A gallery photo has a separate public-consent and moderation flow. Consent to a gallery photo or a product review does not publish a private STL, private reference photo, account email, or private custom-job link.
Checkout and external stores
Website checkout uses Stripe as its payment processor when the live connection is enabled. Payment card details are collected by Stripe, not by our design forms. The website receives the verified payment status, contact details and shipping information needed to fulfill your order. A quote request or checkout return alone is not proof of payment. Read Stripe's privacy policy for its processing details.
Links to Etsy or other external storefronts take you to the chosen provider. That provider handles its own checkout and privacy practices. See Etsy's Privacy Policy and the privacy policy of any other external store you choose.
Shop assistant
The catalog guide processes your messages on this website to suggest products and prepare a cart for your review. Conversation text stays in memory while the chat is open; the website does not save a chat transcript. Closing or clearing chat removes that conversation from the interface. Items you confirm are saved in your normal shopping cart.
If AI assistance is available and you choose to enable it, your messages, recent conversation, the product page you are viewing, and public catalog information are sent to OpenAI to generate a response. The integration requests no saved Responses API conversation, but OpenAI may retain service or abuse-monitoring data under its own policies. AI consent is separate from analytics consent. Keep passwords, payment details, addresses, private order links, and other sensitive information out of chat. The assistant cannot access private orders or place an order without you completing checkout. Basic rate-limit counters record an IP address, request count, and time window.
Product creator
The product creator generates geometry in your browser. When you choose to edit a design from chat or request a price, only your selected design parameters are saved temporarily in this tab's session storage for that handoff, with a one-hour expiry. These parameters are separate from the chat transcript. Opening the destination consumes the saved handoff. Downloading an STL sends the selected shape and dimensions to this website, which validates and regenerates the model file; your product name and color preference are not included in that download request. Submitting the custom-request form saves the design parameters with your request so you and the maker can regenerate the original geometry. This does not publish a new catalog listing or submit an order automatically.
Workshop video
The optional Workshop YouTube player appears in two places: the homepage's Workshop section and the Workshop guides page. Both placements use the same website player and keep the YouTube iframe unloaded until you choose to open it. Playback starts muted and uses YouTube's privacy-enhanced embed domain, but this is not anonymous viewing: after loading, YouTube may receive your IP address, browser information, and playback interactions under its own privacy policy. This choice is separate from website analytics consent.
The website checks the owner's public display setting while each page is open. An enabled setting only means that the maker has configured a video ID; it does not verify that a broadcast is live, that a printer is running, or that a video will embed successfully. Disabled and failed checks remove the player rather than retaining a stale video. Hiding a browser tab unloads that page's player and skips its polling checks; it does not undo information already sent to YouTube. Broadcasts are intended for public viewing, not private customer prints. Hiding the website player does not stop transmission or remove recordings on YouTube. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Retention, deletion, and access
There is no single retention period for every account, request, private file, job, order, review, or gallery submission. Records may remain while they are needed for the request or order conversation, account functionality, moderation, reconciliation, dispute handling, or applicable record-keeping. Private upload reservations and job capabilities also have service-specific states and expiration behavior. This page does not make a blanket deletion or retention guarantee.
You may ask the maker about access, deletion of an account or request, private attachments, model upload, review, or gallery submission, or withdrawal of a gallery consent. Requests are reviewed manually through the verified Etsy Shop contact channel. Some records may need to remain for an active service, order, moderation, reconciliation, dispute, or legal record; the maker will review the specific request rather than promising one outcome for all data.
Analytics and marketing choices
Google Analytics and Meta Pixel are optional and have separate choices in our consent control. Google Analytics measures visits and engagement on selected public pages after a fresh Google Analytics choice. A previous Meta Pixel choice does not enable Google Analytics. Meta Pixel is used for pageview and interaction measurement when you allow that separate marketing choice.
Google Analytics uses first-party cookies and receives limited page information, device and browser information, and approximate location information to provide website reports. Our Google Analytics integration uses reviewed generic page titles and URLs: query strings and fragments are omitted, dynamic product, design and article paths are grouped, and private account, cart, checkout, custom-job and owner pages are excluded. We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, order identifiers, form contents or private job links to Google Analytics. Advertising personalization, Google signals and user-provided data collection are disabled. See Google's privacy policy and how Google uses information from partner sites.
The Google Analytics cookies created by this integration are set with a 90-day lifetime that is not extended on each visit. Withdrawing Google Analytics consent stops future collection by this integration and clears its known first-party Google Analytics cookies on this site; it does not recall information already sent. Global Privacy Control overrides an earlier acceptance. You can also exclude this browser from Google Analytics using the control below. Choices are saved in this browser and do not automatically carry over to another device or browser.
Analytics and marketing choices are separate from submitting a custom request, shopping, signing in, submitting a review, sharing a gallery photo, or subscribing to email.
- Tracking is not enabled by this site before the applicable consent choice.
- The site honors Global Privacy Control signals at the browser level.
- A request, account, visit to the external rewards page, review consent, or gallery consent is not a marketing-mailing-list opt-in. This page does not promise marketing messages or describe service data as permission to market to you.
Optional shopping measurements
With your Google Analytics consent, we also measure product views, additions to cart, checkout starts, and server-confirmed paid catalog orders. These events contain public catalog variant codes, quantities, USD amounts, tax and shipping, and a random analytics transaction code used to avoid duplicate purchases. Names, email, addresses, design or quote text, private order references, and private access links are excluded. We send these events through a separate page with a fixed generic address and no referrer, keeping private page addresses out of Google Analytics. No private-page view is sent.
This shopping measurement excludes signed-in sessions as a conservative owner safeguard, browser opt-outs, Global Privacy Control, and custom designs or quotes. A purchase is measured only when you consented at checkout and return with consent within seven days. Declined consent, blockers, failed delivery, and not returning can leave gaps. Reports therefore describe measured activity, not every sale or verified human visitors. The server's paid-order records remain the sales authority. Withdrawing consent stops future analytics requests from this browser.
Manage your preferences
If you previously granted or denied consent for analytics tracking and want to revisit that choice, clear the saved preference below and reload the page to see the consent control again.
